Aaron Markwell is a Dance Artist and Choreographer based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Aaron holds a BA in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban and an MA in Performance Practice from UAL: Central Saint Martins.

Aaron is a co-founder of Dance Artists North East CIC, through which he choreographs for film, TV and online content. He also holds a Trustee position at Dance City.

Aaron moved to the North East two years ago, after an 8-year career in the interior design industry. He has worked for some of the UK’s best-known design brands, including COAT Paints, House of Hackney and Farrow & Ball.

He also works in North East community dance settings with young people in the care system, in care homes and with people with brain injuries.

In 2024, Aaron was Artist in Residence at Helix Arts working on an archival project of HIV & AIDS community awareness.
